On March 8, 2018, the US government announced that it would impose a heavy tax of 25% and 10% on imports of steel and aluminum products for a long period of time. On April 4, 2018, Trump signed an administrative memorandum again, announcing the imposition of a 25% tariff on more than 1300 imported goods originating in China, marking the full-scale launch of the Sino US trade war. During the process, the United States went through repeated and intensified escalation, until August 24, 2019, when the US government announced the imposition of tariffs on all Chinese goods worth $550 billion worth of imports to the United States, marking the climax of the trade war.

Overall, the Sino US trade war has been going on for nearly two years. From the beginning until now, I don't know if it was out of fear or inner happiness. Anyway, some people always say that the sky is falling and China's economy and foreign trade are about to end. So, what about the actual situation?

On October 14th, the General Administration of Customs of China announced data that in the first three quarters of 2019, China's total import and export value was 22.91 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. Among them, exports reached 12.48 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.2%. Imports reached 10.43 trillion yuan, a decrease of 0.1%. The trade surplus was 2.05 trillion yuan, an increase of 44.2% year-on-year. Affected by trade wars. The total value of trade between China and the United States reached 2.75 trillion yuan, a decrease of 10.3%. However, the trade volume of China's top two trading partners, the European Union and ASEAN, increased by 8.6% and 11.5% respectively. The total import and export volume of countries along the "the Belt and Road" totaled 6+65 trillion yuan, up 9.5%.

It can be seen that China has successfully withstood the extreme pressure from the United States and maintained the growth of foreign trade in the most difficult times. The US government's return to the negotiating table is actually an admission that the trade war did not achieve the expected outcome. Finally, through multiple coordination efforts, our event was successfully held on September 14th at Zhengzhou Sias College. Here, we would like to express our special gratitude to Dr. Chen Xiaochun, the founder of Zhengzhou Sias College, and other friends from all over the world for their strong support and unremitting efforts.

We believe that the more difficult and tortuous the relationship between China and the United States is, the more it is necessary to promote and enhance civil and commercial exchanges between the two countries, so that the relationship between China and the United States can be stable and far-reaching.

It is now gratifying to note that less than a month after the successful holding of the "40th Anniversary Seminar of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and the United States and the Fifth Award Ceremony for Outstanding Contributions between the United States and China", China US relations have begun to emerge from a low point. Chip Carter, the son of former President Carter of the United States, Liu Yanshen, the vice chairman of the National Steering Committee for Vocational Education Reform and Innovation, Chen Xiaochun, the chairman of SIAS College, Wu Gaolin, the executive vice chairman of the US China Business Association, Zhang Baijia, the former deputy director of the Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, Ma Zhifeng, the mayor of Xinzheng Municipal People's Government, Xu Fenghua, the deputy inspector of the United States Department of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Hundreds of leaders, experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from China and the United States in the fields of finance, commerce, education, culture, art, and technology, including Gao Qunyao, founding partner and CEO of Yuntu Times Film Technology Company, Cai Jian, founding executive director of the Innovation Research Institute at Peking University, Reid Rubsamen, CEO of Flow Pharma in the United States, and Deng Tao, chairman of the Creative and Design Committee of the US China Business Association, gathered in Xi'an to jointly explore the relationship between China and the United States in education The future development path in fields such as commerce and trade.

At the morning China US Investment Summit Forum, Chen Xiaochun delivered a speech thanking the organizers for their trust and support in Sias. He stated that as an international university and the earliest university in Henan to implement Sino US education cooperation, SIAS hopes to use this forum to explore the path of sustainable development and promote education internationalization to a deeper level.

Wu Gaolin delivered a speech reviewing the contribution of China US friendship over the past 40 years to world peace, economic prosperity and development, and recognizing the development achievements of Sias over the past 20 years. Wu Gaolin also said that looking back on the past 40 years today is a solid foundation for peace and friendship in China US relations for the next 40 years.

Gao Qunyao shared his career and investment experience with the title "Investment and Entrepreneurship". Cai Jian, titled "The Most Valuable Investment in International Collaborative Innovation," elaborates in detail on value creation, policy systems, market resources, talent capital, technological methods, and other aspects. Reid Rubsamen conducted a roadshow and promotion of the Silicon Valley Vaccine Medical Project. Liu Yanshen elaborated on the important significance of developing the relationship between China and the United States under the title of "Sino US Business Relations and Their Prospects". Wan Yuhua, the founding dean of the Global Charm Women's College, shared her entrepreneurial journey and the original intention of founding the college.

The winners of this year include renowned scientist Yang Zhenning, Carter Center, Chairman of Fuyao Glass Group Cao Dewang, Silicon Valley Flow Pharma Biotechnology Company in the United States, and renowned independent curator Jia Tingfeng from China. Chen Xiaochun, Wu Gaolin, Gao Qunyao, Ling Jialian, Deng Tao, and others presented awards to the award-winning guests in turn.
