The location of Fuyao University of Science and Technology (tentative name) on Liuzhou Island, Nanyu Town, Fuzhou High-tech Zone was initiated by Cao Dewang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fuyao Group. Heren Charity Foundation donated 10 billion yuan in the first phase, in the form of private government assistance , a new application-oriented and research-oriented university established in cooperation with the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government. The project covers a total area of 1,273 mu, adjacent to Fuzhou University City and Haixi High-tech Industrial Park. The first phase of the campus infrastructure area is about 870,000 square meters, with an investment of about 6 billion.
At present, the project has completed various preparatory work such as land application and approval. The management personnel of the three general contractors are all in place, and the temporary dormitory has also been set up. After the groundbreaking ceremony, more than 3,000 builders will be welcomed to start water, electricity, road and site leveling. The construction period is approximately 13 months and is expected to be completed in June 2023.
Fuyao University of Science and Technology (temporary name) plans to run schools with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Admissions and admissions are based on the principle of complying with the national admissions policy and independently select excellent students. The scale of the school is 12,000 to 13,000 full-time students, including 6,000 to 6,500 undergraduates.
